Fernando Oliva is critic and journalist, specialized in the visual arts. Together with José Augusto Ribeiro he curated VOL (Galeria Vermelho, 2004), an exhibition about the use of sound in contemporary art practices. Presently, he is co-ordinator of Contemporâneo, graphic interventions published monthly in Bravo, and contributes to the art journal Lapiz, Spain. He collaborates with Contemporary, Great Britain and C, Canada.
He is professor at Faculdade de Artes Plásticas, São Paulo (Faap), and gives curatorial classes at MAC-USP. His latest projects include: Comunismo da Forma -Som+Imagem+Tempo: A Estratégia do Vídeo Musical (Galeria Vermelho, 2007); À la Chinoise e The Site Specific (Microwave Arts Festival, Hong Kong, 2007); Cover/Reencenação (Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo, 2008).
