David Moreno Sperling

David Sperling is architect and professor at the Escola de Engenharia de São Paulo (EESC-USP) and member of the research group “Novas Espacialidades Contemporâneas”. After receiving his M.A. from the EESC-USP he was awarded his Ph.D. at the Faculdade de Arquitetura e Urbanismo at the Universidade de São Paulo (FAU-USP). He is on the advisory board of the journal Revista Risco in the context of the post-graduate program at USP. Furthermore, he is member of the Comissões Científicas dos Congressos da Sociedade Iberoamericana de Gráfica Digital – SIGraDi (Santiago, Chile, 2006; México, México, 2007; Havana, Cuba, 2008) and participated in the second Simpósio Latino-Americano Cidade e Cultura – SILACC (Santa Fé, Argentina, 2008).
The Instituto de Arquitetos do Brasil (IAB-SP) awarded him special prizes for his essays: “Museu Brasileiro da Escultura, utopia de um território contínuo”, and “Arquitetura como discurso. O Pavilhão Brasileiro em Osaka de Paulo Mendes da Rocha”. His books include: Disegno.Desenho.Desígnio (Senac: 2007), Fios Soltos: a arte de Hélio Oiticica (Perspectiva: 2008).
